Let us dwell briefly on that term "student-centred teaching".

Within RUN-EU, it is formulated as follows:

Student-centred teaching and learning: RUN-EU places students at the centre of their learning by engaging students as active participants in their own education. We emphasize personalized learning, collaboration, and critical thinking and allow students to take ownership of their learning journey. Teachers act as facilitators, guiding students through flexible and engaging learning activities. We thrive to enhance student motivation, skill development, and knowledge retention.

Students work collaboratively.

Thus, student-centred teaching shifts the focus of teaching from the teacher to the student. Of course, this can still take different forms. You can go more or less far on the continuum depending on your objectives, the characteristics of your students, the time available and the materials you have.
As teachers, you still have an important role as facilitators. You set the lines within which students actively engage. Individually and with their peers. As a teacher, you set the learning activities, do follow up, give feedback and redirect where necessary.
You evaluate not only summatively, for the purpose of giving a concrete final mark, but also pay sufficient attention to formative evaluation. You provide feedback for students to improve their learning. Furthermore, you can let students choose how they carry out the process or in what form their final product is submitted.
Central to all this is transparent communication, so that students have a clear idea of what is expected of them and where the degrees of freedom are. And transparent communication starts with a clear course design for you as a teacher.
